UC recorded its highest-ever finish at the American Athletic Conference Championship with a tie for fifth at the 2017 edition of the tournament at the Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club. The Bearcats’ three-round score of 888 is their lowest ever in a conference championship.
UC also finished ahead of three teams it ranked ahead of in the GolfStat rankings: Memphis (No. 66), Tulane (No. 96), USF (No. 116).
Senior Valentina Herrera was named the 2017 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award national team winner for women’s golf and was chosen as a semifinalist for the Female Sports Scholar of the Year award.
